Inspirations |
One of our many influences and inspiration comes from the practice of Frank Lloyd Wright (franklloydwright.org). Founder of “Organic Architecture”, he truly encapsulates a unique style of architecture, adopting bold use of native and indigenous materials, creating a strong connection with the site, light and wonderful, functional living spaces. Other inspirations are: The Seth Peterson Cottage (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1958, Wisconsin): sethpeterson.org Mid-Century Modernism - Modernism Week (modernismweek.com) Modernism Week, the only such event in the country, is an exciting 9-day celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture and culture. The Merchandise Mart (mmart.com): The world’s largest commercial building, wholesale design center and one of Chicago’s premier international business locations. Encompassing 4.2 million gross square feet, The Mart spans two city blocks and rises 25 stories and is the world’s largest LEED-EB (Leadership in Energy and Environmental and Design for Existing Buildings) certified building in November 2007. |
